Oh boy! Now I AM jealous!There are no temp settings on the Ronco, just opening the top vents. Yes I have the MB 800 (stole it for $297 in a Walmart in NEPA) I think 180 is lowest for that, maybe I will try it and shorten the time?
I really think that will work. I would start checking the jerky every 10 mins or so at the 3.5 hour mark and when you bend a piece and see those cracks that Mr. Smokeit mentioned, pull it off.
If you like softer jerky, you could try cutting across the grain of the meat instead of with it… Good luck! And I’m looking forward to seeing the results!
