I just bought a Maverick 732. I'm concerned about the differences between what the temp probe on the smoker dome lid shows (170), what an oven thermometer I placed in the smoker shows (170) and what the Maverick 732 shows (199). I know temp probes that come on some smokers are usually way off but the temp probe on my ProQ Excel 20 should not be that far off and it agrees with the oven temp probe.
I don't know which to trust!!!!!!
I don't know now if I can trust the meat probe on the Maverick 732 either now!!!
