Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy large pieces of lump charcoal. The biggest pieces in a typical bag are what I'm after (4-10").

Have you found that certain brands tend to have larger pieces than others? Any information about this would be helpful.

Thanks a lot

I've never seen a comparison of sizes. As far as I'm concerned, the heat, flavor, amount of ash and length of burn time are factors that I look for. I'm not sure, but if you're looking for size, why not make your own. I have seen threads here that explain the method of making lump charcoal and it doesn't look overly difficult. Check out the search bar.

Geez, I didn't know that there were that many different brands of lump!

I'm even more surprised that there is a website that documents them all! I mean, Really? That's dedication.
