Currently smoking a pork butt with lumberjack hickory blend. I noticed that I keep getting an acrid white smoke every so often on high smoke setting on my camp chef. Previously I have been using Weber hickory pellets and really liked them. I open the lid to the smoker and the white smoke clears. I know the smoke setting is supposed to fluctuate to produce more smoke but I don’t really remember it being this acrid smelling. Maybe it won’t affect the finished product. The only other thing I can think of is a dirty heat deflector/drip pan. It definitely needs a cleaning. I just did a pork butt last week with different pellets and came out great. Anyone have a similar experience?
