Just thought I'd share my weekend chore with everyone. I had to cut down a big blue spruce in my front yard. It was around 55 ft. tall, had multiple crowns and was leaning toward the neighbors house, plus it was just getting to be a pain with roots in the lawn and all. It was a pretty big job. I climbed and limbed it for the first half or so, then rented a lift to top the crowns off. The all fell pretty well except for one which was bent. It twisted as it fell, and nearly brushed the front of the house. While dropping one of the large split trunks, my saw got caught in the kerf and was yanked out of my hands. It sailed about 30 feet and busted the engine cover, and carb cover. It ran the rest of the day but won't start now. Lots of firewood for my buddy but no smoking wood.
