Hey, new to forums, if I break protocol in some way let me know!

Recently ate at a BBQ restaurant in Colorado Springs that had a great appetizer, smoked artichoke hearts. I've been searching online for a recipe that I can use as a base to start building my own from, but so far all I've been able to find is one recipe that doesn't sound even similar. The ones that we ate at the restaurant were battered in something, possibly given a quick frying after being smoked, but if anyone has any suggestions for smoked artichoke hearts I'd love to hear them. Next time I cook I think I'm going to just throw some in the smoker and see how it goes, get a feel for how they cook, but I'd love any suggestions that anyone has!

Was the smoke in the batter or the artichoke ?

If in the artichoke smoke for 30 min and then batter and fry. You could also give it a second smoke with the batter on for a few minutes

Smoke seemed to be in the artichoke itself. I like the idea of the second smoking!
