hello,
I am looking for a realistic amount Hickory wood chunks/logs for smoking. I know that I can buy at the box stores but the prices are insane, $20 for a small bag of maybe 10 to 12 pieces of wood.
I have tried the usual routs of lumber mills, loggers with no results.
I am in the Albany NY area and would be willing to travel about an hour for a decent price/trade option.

When do you want it? How much do you want? I have a large tree I'm planning to cut this summer. There will be lots of limb wood available. I'm more than an hour away from you. In Norfolk NY.

Just keep looking on craigslist ask the people selling large amounts of firewood for straight hickory. A lot of times if they know you are looking for something they will set it aside

Tropics, I appreciate the suggestion, I have called and stopped at a few of these places with no luck, either just ran out or check back later, all spoken for.
Ddufore, I am looking to get about a garbage can sized amount at a time. Something manageable that I can readily store.
Weev, the struggle continues.
I appreciate the suggestions and will continue to search, driving the wife nuts because everyone
Every time were riding past a lumber mill I'm pulling in to ask. Have fun smoking this weekend

I’m cutting the tree for lumber for ax/hammer handles. I was going to use the limb wood to make charcoal. I could certainly part with the amount you want.
