Going to Asheville tomorrow to meat my daughter and her friends for lunch. They are on there way back to Milwaukee after building a Habitat house in Georgia somewhere. Anyone know a good BBQ place in Asheville that's open on Saturday?

We settled on Luella's. It was great. There were 14 of us. They accommodated us no problem and were super nice. Everyone said their food was really good.

My girls. Sam, Tabitha and Cricket.

They had Foothill's Sexual Chocolate on tap. 3 bucks. Had to have 1.

Sam got the last of it. Killed the keg.

I had the brisket with andouille sausage, calico beans and mac & cheese. The sausage seemed to be ground too fine for andouille. No chunks in it at all. And I think there was to much marjoram in it. The brisket was excellent. Great bark and fork tender. Cricket said the ribs were awesome too.

The Habitat for Humanity crew. There were 31 from her school that went to Sumter, SC to help build 2 houses. Only 10 came to Asheville for lunch.

They had a Habitat sticker in their collection. So they all wanted to pose in front of it. See if you can find it.

Sam getting ready to finish the drive to Milwaukee.

Thanks for watching.

My House! Best Darn BBQ in the entire mountains, including the Smokies!

If your ever south of AVL, Hawg Wild in Pisgah Forest at the beginning of the entrance to the National Forest is quite good, not great, but pretty darn good. They give you a mess of food and you won't go away hungry.

Ah yes Luella's, I spent many a brisket fueled study session there while I was still at UNCA.

Here's what my friends and family agree on,

Luellas has the best brisket in town.

12 Bones has the best ribs in town.

Moe's Original has the best chicken in town.

Everyone's pulled pork is decent but to tell the truth you're on the wrong end of the state for it.

The thing that really makes Asheville Q shine is having real beer to drink with it.
