Are these plans online somewhere to build the cajunator? I like the setup and would not mind the extra work that goes with it.

Please let me know where I can find these plans or are there similar ones out there?

Thank You,

Ron

Ron, morning and welcome to the forum......

Is this the unit you want to build.???   It is a Reverse Flow design that is typical for smoker builds...  Nothing special except for the 100 hours to make it look pretty...  I have attached links, below, for the calculations and design theory to help you through the build process.....

Stopped by roll call and intro myself and my plans to get into the art of smoking. just bought a house 2 and a neighbor is a Texas smoker who entered contests. Today he came by work and cooked all of us a steak for lunch. Fantastic stuff.

I am basically looking for plans I can go by and not have to worry about any calculations, just want to get right into the build.

Cannot seem to find an email for Cajunsmoke13, maybe if I can get some info to sizes to start with, I'll have to do the math.

Thanks again for your help.

Ron

Am going to try to start by making measurements and build one. Just a few notes needed. I am going to get some steel rolled. Any suggestions to the best common diameter and thickness of the cooking chamber?

I am liking the reverse flow smoker better, BUT have a neighbor who has a custom built pit that has a side firebox, he used either the firebox for indirect heat and/or briquets under the grills for direct heat.

I am starting to look into options here, little lost???

What are the disadvantages of a reverse flow versus side firebox on what is mentioned above?

Getting ready to build from scratch.

I am in North Dakota where we get lots of wind and dust.

Ron

24" diameter, 3/16" thickness for cooking chamber, If weight is not an issue, you could go with 1/4" thick, but will be harder to work with, dealing with the heavier steel.  Firebox is a different story, you want to go at least 1/4" and 5/16" or 3/8" would be better.

I finally found a tank, thinking it's a 125 gallon air compressor tank. measures 41 wide 30 dia.

Where can I find the build on the photo here? I really like how clean this is build.

just need ideas, like to see if there is a way I can put in a propane burner for quick start bbq'ing, in case I don't have time after work to start the firebox?

Thought about adding a rotisserie. Any ideas would be great, will try to take photos.

Thanks,

Ron

Ron, evening.... You're back....  cool....  Use the calculators from my first thread and come up with a design and numbers for your smoker... then we can help you with any additions like burner, rotisserie etc.... the Circle Calc  will help with opening between the firebox and cook chamber and the area under the RF plate....   without your ideas on paper it is almost impossible to know what you want....  Dave
