Couple years ago I purchased a Anova SV cooker, today I was cooking a chicken breast and it literally blew up. I was sitting back and heard what sounded like a water bottle blowing up. Went into the kitchen to see and found this: IMG_3424.jpeg
Since I have to order a new one, what do you recommend? This one came with WI-FI connection which when I ordered it I thought was cool however I rarely use it so that isn’t important. What Do you guys recommend?
Thanks,
Gordon

The first thing I'd recommend is to contact Anova and explain your issue. They may replace the unit like they did for me about 6 years ago when a circulator I had crapped out due mainly to my own stupidly. If not, I recommend getting another Anova unit.

I've had our sponsor's Inkbird original wi-fi 1,000 watt ISV-100W for several years since it came out. They came out with two newer versions ISV-200W and ISV-300W since then without the lower air vents and the square upper design and went to a round ventless shape. I'd get it again. Search them on Amazon I believe they are all 1,000 watts and each have a 20-30% coupon. I do mostly 48 hour soaks so I have no problems and use the wifi at my parents home and manually at mine. I got my moneys worth. I put it clipped to a quart heavy glass big beer mug with 50/50 distilled vinegar and water at 140* for 15 minute to clean the SS inside and out yearly depending on your hard water build up.

Same as above I have the inkbird 1000w, had it for probably 4+ years, still going strong.

I've had the Inkbird ISV-200W for a couple years. I use it frequently without issue. The only problem I have had with it was on me. I accidently dropped it and cracked the plastic piece at the bottom of the tube.

No problem, the part was easily found on Amazon and I ordered a spare, just in case I do it again.

About all these cookers, no matter the brand, are made in China, so it's more of buying one that has the features you want (WIFI, etc.) than anything else.

I would contact Anova as suggested above . I have 2 . One is wi fi . Like you I never use that .
I use the app mostly for an alarm for overnight cooking .

I was sitting back and heard what sounded like a water bottle blowing up.
Makes me think the circulator stop working and maybe built pressure in the body ?
Would have to be a high temp cook though . Even then sounds strange , but if you heard it pop ,,,

I have this one and am happy with it

Thanks for all your responses. I did send an email to Anova, got an auto response saying they will follow up with me in a couple days. I’ll decide after I hear back. I will say I’m already miss having a SV cooker.
Handy as hell and I never knew I needed one until I had one. I even have a backup one .......... new in box, just basic, no wifi or anything but my wife got it for me cheap from someone in her facebook group. It's some off brand, but I tested it and it works fine.

I have a water oven. Not into the sticks. I also use the SV function on my IP. I "naked" SV (no vac bag) in that. Rooting for ya on the Anova customer service.
