I was at the camp doing some work and on my way to the Deer stand I had to move a fallen limb and when I got off of my ATV it was about 3 ft. from me. I just took the pic and left it alone..

Its eyes were wide open I could have picked it up..It was real tiny not more than a couple of weeks old....

I sure wanted to bring it home with me but I just could not....My friend has milk goats so milk would not have been a problem...

Just a thought. Can you go to that area again tomorrow???? That fawn didn't attempt to run...........maybe mamma is no longer and the fawn is starving to death. Just a thought.

A few weeks ago, my Son's climbers saw a fawn laying near the shop door ( about 150' from my house).

Two days later Mrs Bear was watering her flowers, and she called me outside.

Under the corner of my deck was a dead fawn---maybe about 15 pounds.

Very Sad,

Bear

Lying still is what fawns do, that's why you got so close. If mom had been handy they would have both bolted before you got too close.

Our deer up here calve around the 1st week in June, I didn't realize that they did so late down south.
