So I received an email about 30% off LEM items which seemed interesting as they don't really ever do what I would call a "good" discount, so I clicked and checked and saw this new funny thing while poking around!
It's a burger patty, jerky, snack stick attachment!!!

It can work directly with their grinders or with a stuffer (with that adapter). I mean they show in the pic that you just have to lift the stuffer (image 2 is a platform) put the adapter on, then the jerky maker and you can just "conveyer belt" out the meat!!!

Anyone have or see this in action? Reviews with pics seemed to report well for the jerky maker on a grinder but the patty maker review was not good. I feel like the complaints in the patty maker review were more about how the burgers cooked out vs this making burgers... if I remember it correctly. I only skimmed it as I think it was long.

Anyhow, thoughts?!?! I honestly wouldn't mind having this so I could crank out 20 pounds of jerky in like 15 minutes vs the use of my jerky canon which worked well but just took too long when doing 10-20 pounds of ground meat jerky, which is my norm when I do it :D

Sounds easy . I bet it's not as smooth as it seems , but better than a jerky cannon .
If I do ground meat jerky I roll it out in a sheet to the thickness I want .

Then use a wheel pizza cutter to cut into strips .

I'm not doing large batches though , so that might be worth a try if the price is right .
I had been trying to come up with a " system " for uncased stix .
I was using foil cut to the longest length I could use .

Then pulling it away from the stuffer as I cranked .

Maybe that spacer under the stuffer and a narrow piece of parchment would work .

I could see that attachment working now that I think about it . Just looked back at the pictures , and that narrow roll and spacer would works for the sticks . Hmm ,,,

Have tried to do case less also, did similar on parchment. Kinda worked ??? 🤔

So we were at pineywoods pineywoods for the N. Fl. Gathering... He was using his cannon to make caseless breakfast sausage... We found that it is really easy (and quickly) to reload the cannon using the stuffer (as we had it out to make snack sticks and sausage).. just stick the gun on the tube done in as far as it will go... Start filling with the stuffer and move the gun out as it fills up... Easy Peezy ...

I should probably give this method a shot on my grill mats. I've got my method down of smushing down a whole sheet of ground meat onto parchment paper and then flipping onto my grill mats and peeling the paper off.
I smoke the sheets whole and at various times while smoking they will be dehydrated enough for me to take the meat scissors to them and break them down into 2-4 big squares until they finish. At this point I use the meat scissors to cut jerky strips.

This works fine but sides of the strips where the cuts are made are not that nice dried jerky texture.
I prefer sticks like in your picture but the cannon was just too cumbersome for me to do 10-20 pounds at a time.

Oh nice! I didn't even think of using the stuffer to load the cannon!
I have given my cannon away to my brother as he will only do like 1-2 cannon loads at a time so the tool and the volume works well for him.

That's probably a pound or two , but if you got set up right it may knock some time off a large batch .
I use oven jerky racks , and just cook them in the oven . I pull the foil after the sticks set up .
If you do try this with your stuffer , go one tube bigger than you would use with casings .

I'm thinking now about making a setup like you posted . Elevate the stuffer and a narrow roll holder behind it . Could use parchment and cut the rolls to size .

That all looks great!
I have the MES mats so they fit my MES40 racks perfectly.
I also use straight silicon nonstick matts and I have a technique for easily flipping these things that should still work.

Basically I have a pan with the solid mat and parchment paper in it and I mush all my jerky down on it.
Then I place the q-mat and my smoker rack on top (sandwiching everything) and flip the whole thing so it is now laying on the rack.
Finally I carefully peel the parchment paper off and boom a whole sheet of jerky meat is on q-mat an don my smoker rack :D

So with your approach above I could do the same thing quite easily.

Thanks for the heads up on the tube size. I was thinking the same thing or picking one that is a little bigger than my old jerky cannon tube. I don't mind a thicker stick AND I want to get 20 pounds in the smoker so that means a little more height on the sticks so more meat is there :D

I have about 7 pounds of venison meat defrosting now. I may get another 7 pounds out now that I think of it hahahaha. We'll see. I was going to just cook that meat for taco salads but this has me very interested.
UGH I'm so on the fence about it all while typing this hahahaha. I'm supposed to be focusing on working out and cutting some extra pounds this month instead of adding other projects like this on my plate hahahhaa.
Maybe at the end of August? We'll see hahhaahha

I found this video, it looks like if he pulled the paper a little quicker the sticks would've come out straighter.

Thanks! I was going to look something up but I'm glad you beat me to the punch hahahah.
I agree if he pulled the paper faster I think the results would be better.

I DO like seeing this though. I would be doing this with a stuffer not a grinder which makes me wonder if I can easily crank and feed at the same time. I would have to use my 7 pound Hakka and never my big 22 pound stuffer (a 2 person machine basically).

Definitely a project for the end of the month following the chopsaw method. No need to invest money if a simpler method won't work AND not knowing how my setup will handle it. So experiments to come in the future :D

I used a 3/4's on those . They finished out about a 1/2 " .
Thanks! I'm down with that. hell I wouldn't mind a 1 inch jerky stick that goes down to 3/4 inch. It's all about getting the 10-20 pounds on 4 MES40 racks in the smoker for 1 go :D
