I hadn't planned on cooking today, but at midnight last I decided to take a half bird out of the freezer.I was going to inject but got lazier and tried something new,I rubbed this under and on the skin, followed by an hour in the fridge. Then over pecan on the WSM 14.

That looks really tasty. Great job with the chicken.

Looks pretty clucking good to me!

Tasty looking yardbird!

Thanks all.I get stuck in a rut with my usual rubs. That marinade mix was pretty good as a rub.It does not have a ton of salt either, which is nice.A whole packet would do a whole chicken,I used little more than half.As usual with pecan,it gets poultry prom primped, though one has to look close, for the rub is red with paprika.

Looks really good from here.

Point for sure.

Chris

I use those marinades a lot for non-smoker cooking, and they are really good. Try the brazilian steakhouse marinade on kabobs- incredible.

I have used the Baja Citrus? flavor before and it was good also.
Used it for the first time on chicken breast last week. I’m not much of a chicken breast guy, but the marinade was really good.

Here’s what I have right now. Using island grill for some shrimp today, and trying brown sugar bourbon tomorrow.

That Brazilian Steakhouse interests me.I haven't used them as a marinade, always a rub.

I’ll have to try them as a rub. The brazilian steakhouse might need to be mixed with something if used that way. It has an extremely strong flavor.
