Hi guys I have an event coming up where I am supplying the meat, beans, and slaw. I have to feed 80-90 people. I saw some calculations some where on how much I should actually make. I am feeding all adults that know how to eat. I was thinking I will need about 90lbs of raw meat expecting 50% yield. What say you BBQ geniuses?

What size are you going to do on sides? 1/2lbs of finished meat and two 4 oz sides is quite a bit.

I agree - that is a lot of food
Well its buffet style so uhh not sure on side sizes
Is it going to be a served buffet or serve yourself?  I would almost beg you to put someone at each item to serve it for several reasons including portion (you will loose 20% to folks who over serve themselves) control and food safety. Cant tell you how many times folks have reached in with their fingers to taste something - ever watch what happens at a brunch?

Well its for my Commanding Officer's change of command reception and its serve yourself type lunch. Its a bunch of Marines eating and they know how to eat...

How many meats are you cooking?  I'm cooking this weekend for a graduation and it's 50 people which means 65-70.  I'm doing 2 butts, 10-12 lbs each.  8 full chix and 6 slabs or ribs.

Sides are 2 lbs beans, 3lbs slaw, and salad.  I also have extra slaw and sliders buns for pulled pork sammies.

My CO wants pulled beef and pulled pork.. So I am doing a 20-25lb Chuck Roll and like 4 10lb BB's
