King Me!
A fine summer evening grilling some exceptional fresh fish my kid and his buddy brought home from their trip to the pier.
Keeping it light tonight with lots of veggies and some fruit to accompany it.

Grilled King Mackerel
Broiled Asparagus
Pickled Stuffed Peppers
Caprese Salad
Sliced Avocado
Frozen Mango for Dessert

Fresh caught King Mackerel seasoned with Lemon Pepper and Seasoned Salt
Perfectly grilled crispy skin and flaky meat, brushed with butter and given a squeeze of lemon.

Thank you,
nice having my boy old enough to go fishing with his buddies and bring home fresh fish.
Now if he'll start stocking the freezer with wild game.

Hell yeah man that looks great! I grilled some steaks and halibut tonight. Surf and turf was too busy to get any pics. Gonna have to try the mackerel now! LIKE

Holy Mackerel!!

Excellent looking plate, sir!! I’ve never had mackerel, although a lot of diners serve it here on a Sunday.

Did you noodle that catfish? That would be a cool story if you did.

Thank you Xray.

I bet they're serving Spanish mack, good stuff.
Spanish is delish.

No, we were soaking baits.
No noodling, not for Blues or Channels, primarily Flatheads.
That's not for me either, not at my age now, too damned dangerous/strenuous.

Mackerel Looks nice & white, looks like it would make a Good "Poor Man's Lobster"????
Is it exceptionally Bony??
Nice Job as usual !!

G'morning John, and thanks.

Raw it is a dark gray flesh, but it cooks up a nice off-white.
It might do well as faux SeaRoach if not overcooked.

The two species of mackerel we've down here are not bony.
There is the spine, ribs and lateral line pin bones, the spine, ribs are a none issue when filleted and the pin bones are easily removed.
