Lookin' good Steve!! One of my Winter time favorites is red cabbage, potatoes, red apples, Kielbasa, and a touch of vinegar in the Dutch to simmer on low for hours then serve. Oh so good!! You get the sweet from the apples, the sour from the vinegar, and amazing textural variations from the taters and cabbage. Mom got me loving that when I was about 6 and I still love it!! Yours however looks like something I could chow down on real fast, especially with that mustard!! Mmmm mmmm good my friend!!

Something about kielbasa and cabbage...

Thanks! Yeah, I've had that way as well. Great comfort food. And. Boy. Did I make a pig out of myself with it.

Looks good Steve. Like. We just had that last weekend and the wife did a small pork butt roast to go with it. Nothing like a hot dog or kielbasi on a bun with sauerkraut and mustard on top! Next time try adding dumplings to the kraut, I absolutely love the dumplings.

I haven't heard of adding dumplings in this before. Just the normal Bisquick style ones?

That would be interesting and probably good. I still haven’t made mine yet. I got the seasoning, cure, casings and stuffer. Need to get cranking, literally...

Hopefully once they’re made I’ll have some for summer grilling with peppers and onions.

Get cranking! They are very good.

Yes, we use Bisquick. We have found that adding the dumplings to the kraut doesn't work too well when there is kielbasi or sausage in the mix - the dumplings tend to disintegrate. I'm assuming that it is due to the grease in the kielbasi.

Ok, I may have to try that. Thanks!

I'm having my home made fresh Kielbasi and Kraut for dinner tonight with Cabbage Pierogies

Thanks. I know. Sometimes we do the same with greens. Either collard or turnip. Then it is really good. And with less salt.Have you heard of folks doing this with frozen kale leaves? Seems common with some folk. I haven't done it though.

Have you done a thread on Cabbage Pierogies? Sounds interesting.
Yes I did
