i fired my big smoker up on Dec 13th and it was 8 above zero an it was snowing like mad out. my smoker is a big old girl made by a guy who did a great job on it I cooked a 35 pound pig and 6 racks of ribs plus 2 great big old roasting chickens on it, I cured the holding heat probling with an welding blanket over it  and i put a plastic tarp over that to keep it dry, I did this with my electric smoker too, it worked like a charm so guys give that a try, and i was cold that day too 17 above..

SO  keep on a smoking and have fun too.
