For the past few years I been smoking one or 2 times a month on a MB electric smoker and it was good. Then it went out so I got one with the glass door and I just could not get anything to come out on it. Well last fall I wanted to go back to wood and after looking for the right smoker, I pulled the trigger on one. I felt I good a good deal on it so I bought it. Not as big as I wanted but it will get me by for all I do.

I picked up a older OK Joe's smoker. I wanted one that would last me for a few years. And this is what I found. I do not know much about this with the vertical chamber but as time goes by I do hope I pick it up good. I could not find a lot of information about them

Congratulations on the new smoker colt. There may not be to many people with the exact same smoker, but there are plenty of folks with smokers that are similar enough to help you out.

Welcome to the site.

I’m not 100% but that looks like an older “better” okie joe.

Have fun getting to know your smoker and just run some fires in there with no food so you can see how to get the temps you want in that vertical chamber area.
Nice smoker

Thanks guys. This is a old Late 80's to the time they sold out Oklahoma Joe's smokers. I bought it in Stillwater Oklahoma. It set within 20 miles form where it was made.

I put some wood in it last night to do a test run. I was kinda shocked. I could not get the main chamber past 175. The vertical chamber got to 205. I was thinking that the main chamber would get hotter. But more I thought about it, I am thinking that the gauges are off. They are hard to read with moisture are in both and this smoker is 20 to 25 years old so I am betting that they are bad. So today I will go look for some new ones. Hate to take the old ones off as they do have a picture of that smoker on them, but I will put them up in a boc somewhere.

I am also going to get a Bluetooth set-with the probs. Can someone give me some clue about setting that up? Hate to drill a hole in this, and I know the wires will not be long enough to run down the top as some others do.
