Very nice looking rig. You may want to add air intakes at the top of the firebox door for better control.

Thank you! I test ran it a few weeks ago. It doesnt need any at the top. I could control the temps by wood placement and how many splits added at one time. It surprisingly does really well on wood consumption. I started with a coal bed and 4 splits and it was at 350⁰ in less than 10 minutes. Took a little over an hoir to come down to smoking temp. Added 2 small splits every hour or so.

It looks fantastic. As long as it works for you that is what is important. I have seen other versions of that style of cooker have the top vents.

I have 2 - 250 gallon propane tanks that I will be turning into my own BBQ pits. My design is very close to what you have done.

I have never welded or used a plasma cutter so this is going to be a great experience to learn some metal fab skills.

I have a skilled welder to watch over me so I am sure it will all work out fine.

How much is the price tag on that unit? I want to sell one of the ones I make to pay for the one I keep.

No other way than to jump into it. Lol thats how I got started. I welded just about everyday for over a year. And I'm still learning!
I'm asking $3200. Just posted it in the classifieds.
