Jeff's Rub

I purchased Jeff's rub and sauce recipes and happy to have done it.  If it helps pay for the forum and other aspects of the site I am glad I can do my part.

I do have a question...when I see the recipes that come each Thursday the rub looks red. When I prepare the rub at home it doesn't look red at all. Am I doing something wrong?  

I believe when Jeff refers to 'My rub' or 'Jeff's rub' he is calling for 'Jeff's Texas Style Rub'. That is correct, right?  

Could someone set me straight?  Am I confusing the two rub recipes?
