I'm getting yelled at for wanting to buy a rub and sauce recipe from the other half. Out of 10 how many stars for each.

I have yet to use the sauce (prefer dry rub). The Rub is really the only one I use since I purchased the Recipe so I give it a 10.

There are other posts debating the value of the recipe but if you use this site for all of the invaluable information then the $20 you pay is well worth it.

Plus you do not have to buy rubs anymore as you have the recipe.

Just my thoughts.

Only rub I use and it is low Sodium at least lower than most rubs because I can put a ton on and it not get salty at all.

Another 10 for the rub; don't use any other since I've made my first batch.  I haven't tried the sauce yet either. But, the rub is good on everything!

Hey Shaggy,

I agree with the above...10 points for the rub for sure. I would also give the sauce 10 points, I made a huge batch of sauce and the family uses it on just about everything...smoked or not. It has basically replaced all the different bbq sauce brands we had in the fridge. Personally I am not a big sauce fan on my smoked stuff...but the wife and kids want nothing else...

As for the cost...I told my wife it was a small fee for the forum and with that you get two free recipes! LOL

Cheers

I'm not allowed but I believe in the forum we put up a wager I said I would get so many votes almost there

I'll help out here, I give both a "10".  I also have two more rubs and sauces I give 10, but it depends on the flavor profile I'm looking for.  Jeff's is a great place to start, it was my first and I always keep a supply of both sauce and rub on hand.  Plus, $20 for all the information you're going to get here, it's worth the support for the site .......... save you from buying a ton of books.

The rub is great. The sauce is good but has one off flavor to me. I wish I could figure out what is causing it, because I feel if I could get rid of it the sauce would be a 10 as well.

I used Jeff's rub this past weekend on some Salmon and will be using it again tonight on some burger and hotdogs.  I'm almost out of it and looking forward in making more.  So that should tell ya what I think.

Tell her its a small donation to a site that provides information to many..work the philanthropy card ;)

Both the sauce and the rub are great bases (jeff even mentions this) for your own custom sauces as well.
