    marshman71 Smoke Blower

Woke up this morning and knowing it was gonna be a nice day here in Illinois, I decided I really wanted

to smoke something different than ribs chicken or another pork butt ..   I happened to stumble upon Jeff's recipe

for Planked Jalapeno Buttermilk Meatloaf.    after a quick browse of the ingredient list I noticed I had everything

to make this for dinner today but the buttermilk. so I figured this would be a very inexpensive meal.

I did modify Jeff's recipe a bit since I don't use his rub or sauce.

Holy Lord was this the most amazing meatloaf I have ever done ... I've done meatloaf's on the grill and they are really amazing but

this version takes it to a whole new level of smoked meat nirvana.

I'll post the recipe I used at the end with the minor changes I made,  the original can be found doing a quick search.

To make Jeff's jalapeno buttermilk meatloaf recipe, you'll need:  My Version

1- lbs ground beef (I use 85/15 or 90/10)   Original Beef to Sausage ratio was slightly different

    1 lb  sausage, ground

    2 eggs, beaten

    1 cup buttermilk

3 TBS  Penzy's Dried Minced Onions  ( Original called for minced onions )  Penzy's will rehydrate that's why I like them.

2 TBS pickled jalapenos, chopped  ( this is half of the original amount and I think just perfect )

3/4 cup Panko bread crumbs ( Original called for just plain Bread Crumbs )

3 TBS of My own Pork Rub

3 TBS of My own Sauce

    1 plank of wood, cedar,

I smoked this for about 2 hours and 45 Min's at about 230 to an IT of 165 using Hickory

Lemme tell ya it was phenomenal !
