just walked in the door from a Lowes/Wally world trip. I looked at the sad brisket at Wally World and at 1.89/lb it wasn't worth it, so I picked up a turkey (on sale!) bacon, JD Sausage, 2 lbs of jalepeno's and a sack of pablano's. Heading to a couple other stores here in a few minutes to find a good deal on some butt and maybe a brisket (if I can find something that looks half decent!). SO... planning to do something fun with the peppers, going to smoke a butt or 2... and my secret concoction for the January
appetizer throwdown.

I am actaully going to take my brinkman to work with me tommorow and smoke a pork butt all day, and prob some abts. Then bring it back in monday pulled for all the guys to enjoy.

Going to try my first smoke this weekend. Trying to decide between baby backs or beer can chicken. I have done both on the grill, but looking forward to the challenge of smoking them.

I got the ingredients to smoke a taco meatloaf. I'm still drawing up plans for this but so far I'm goin to roll it up like a fatty. The meatloaf will have the taco seasoning mix into it along with other taco related ingredients.

What better way to break in the new UDS than a monster 16# left sided brisket.Saw 2 on the shelf at Albertsons and asked to see more,he toted out a few more and had a good pick of the bunch.Pics of the drum and smoke to come over the weekend.

No, I think you mean the big COWBOYS game.

What about that pork market you've talked so much about?

Somebody better be putting together an entry into this months THROWDOWN!!!

Fire It Up got me all excited for some meatballs. Pretty sure that's what I'm working on.

I have a couple of butts that I threw on at 2:30pm this afternoon.....still have not hit 160 degrees yet but they are looking fantastic!

Going to smoke my 1st Boston Butt tomorrow.
Thinking about smoking a whole cabbage (saw that mentioned here on the forum), brown-up some chopped bacon & onions, put that where you cut out the core, add butter & some BBQ sauce, salt & pepper...I'm getting hungry......

Today - Just finished rolling a breakfast fatty and a pizza fatty. I am about to start up the UDS and then throw them on. Some friends will be here in a few hours. Gonna throw a prime rib on around noon and then some ABTs around 2 pm. When the prime rib is done I am going to try Cowgirl's smoked apple dumplings for dessert. Should be fun.

Tomorrow - Sausage party! Got some buddies coming over and we are gonna make breakfast, chorizo, and medium hot italian.

couldnt get down to the one in Chicago before they closed yesterday, it is maybe 35 miles from my work, and about 80+ miles each way from where I live(no time to make the trip today). the other that has their own hogs it is too late in the week to get some, they slaughter to order earlier in the week so most of the ribs are typically spoken for.

Im going to my other local butcher, he has really good BB's just expensive $4.89/lb. Hand trimmed, membrane off, each rib is almost like a small pork chop. He's typically the guy I go to for prime steaks.

So 1 slab of BB's, and I am going to do some meatballs for snacking during the early game. bb's are for the Ravens game.
