It's Been Another One of Those Saturdays...

Some of you that read my thread last week about my brisket, heard about my GF remodeling her garage with her car. Today was the day for the door to be replaced, I did all the framing exactly like I was told from the door guy. So he shows up, 2 hours late and hung over, and says the framing is wrong, so we argue back a forth as to what I did and what I was suppose to do. Long story short, I got mad, called his boss, he came out, said my work was fine and brought out another door installer. Everything great right? Nope, he installed the WRONG style and color door

. So now my GF has to live with a dark brown door on a yellow house with no windows until next week.

The great part of this story is that even though I was getting really mad, (which I rarely do) and was in a foul mood. The second I fired up my charcoal chimney, my mood went from bad to great. Even my GF commented that I looked happy again. Something about playing with fire and smoking food really does make me a happy guy.

Sorry to hear about your day going that way.....Hopefully your gf will get a discount because of their mess up and for having to deal with a hungover installer the first time................Smoke on anyways..........

Smoking fixes everything. I have been up since 4:30. Doing 2 butts and a brisket. It has been one of the best days. Don't let the door get down. They will make it right and gives you leverage for discount.

Get this guys. My GF kind of likes the new door and is now thinking of painting her house to match the door, no BS here, she's seriously thinking of re-painting her whole house to match the door!! Ahhh!! I'm just lost for words.........

Tell the garage door company if they buy the paint she won't make them go thru the hassle of changing out the door.

Boy it really does, I think I've found my nirvana.

There's no way we're getting any discount, we already got a "great deal" but with the wrong door and a drunk installer, but it still was a great deal. The owner seemed very concerned about our issues and has been very good about returning calls and showing a genuine concern; this "crap" does happen. I'm more upset about the first installer and the way he treated me and my GF. Either way, I don't care, because once she sees how much money and time it will take to paint her house, I have a feeling it's not going to happen.
