Doing ribs using my smoke generator for the first time. The smoke from the tube smoker is heated to approximately 650, the smoke is very faint, light blue and smells fantastic.

It works great but it is really not that practical.

Interesting setup you've got going there. I am curious... is this something you whipped up yourself or is it commercially available? Also, with a 650-degree smoke, what's the final temperature in the chamber?

MB makes a smoke generator that clips on the right side where the chip feeder is. I assume that is where your flex tube goes in? Cool idea for sure

The inspiration came from Greg Blonder's Janus smoker idea. There is a cap on the end of the 6" duct that has vent holes in it to allow the smoke to exit. The thermocouple is also located there. The exterior chamber temp hovers around 350 checked with my infrared thermal gun.

The temperature is very steady and easily regulated with the needle valve. I added a solenoid valve controlled by a PID but is not needed.

I'm going to make a few more adjustments then tidy up and finish my rough tin work.

I wanted it separate so I could do some cold smoking.
