Is there a support group for compulsive smoker/grill purchasers?

Well, as I mentioned on another post, I was trolling craigslist as I am known to do and I stumbled on a MES 30 model #20070110. Seller wanted 85 and I offered 60 which he accepted. I was thrilled! Picked it up today. Ordered myself an AMNPS and will begin playing with it this weekend. Smoker is in great condition and seems to work fine. Only downside is that it is missing the water pan which I dont even know if I am going to use. I will be reading all the MES owners posts and checking out their pics of mods and set ups.

Forgive me now because I haven't receive it and I already have question about the AMNPS...

Seriously though, since I received my masterbuilt dual fuel pro for my birthday in October I have since purchased a weber q, a weber performer, the MES 30, and I already had a Weber Genesis 310. Along with charcoal, wood chunks, propane, 2 mavericks, and meat that could feed a small country. And now I need to buy some pellets for te MES. Like every other hobby, this is getting expensive but well worth it. I gotta get off the internet before I buy a stick burner. Goodnight all!

It is an addicting hobby for sure.... Soon you'll be getting into smoking cheese, bacon & sausage.... So then you'll need a cold smoker ! LOL.

Hahaha I am beyond addicted. But my hobby gets dinner on the table, saves money because due largely in part to this site I am making food better than I can get at any BBQ restaurant around here. When I have bbqs this summer, I might have to build a new deck so my guests have some place to sit haha...te fleet is growing...

My name is Johnny and I'm an addict. When my wife and I first bought our house, all we had was a little Weber Smokey Joe. Then my dad donated his old Weber 18 inch kettle. Silver series w/o ash can. For years that was fine until my urge to BBQ bigger and better meat led me to Sears and my first Masterbuilt cheapie offset. From there the addiction got worse. The offset was okay for a $150 smoker. Firebox was too small though. Couldn't make a charcoal basket big enough to do any good. 2 years later I'm a happy owner (so far) of a Brinkmann Trailmaster Lmtd and a 22 inch Weber kettle gold series! And just this past weekend my neighbor got herself a gas grill which I assembled for her so she gave me her cheapie brand charcoal grill!!! I want to take a 'family' photo of them all and put it on a Christmas card!!
Long live charcoal!!!! Thank you for listening. I needed that. :-)

Hahaha Johnny...I am glad I am not alone. Craigslist is dangerous for me. I love this hobby and I am getting all my smokers and grills for such good prices hat I just can't resist. My deck looks like the set of Primal Grill.

Support Group ; you're at it. Your problem is O.S.D. (Obsessive Smoker Disorder) no known cure.

I plan my week for the one day that I get to Q! I make sure I have whatever I need as far as meat, rub, spices, charcoal, and flavor wood.

Btw, Costco has kingsford competiton charcoal on sale! 36 lbs for $18!

I know that feeling. I obsess over dinner for the week all weekend and everyday during the week at work. I picked up kingsford competition pack from Costco! It did seem like a good deal. I like that its all natural now that I'm cooking for a little one. That never mattered to me but your perspective changes I guess.
