A state I would love to visit but never had the chance. What’s your go-to smoked meat?
I really like pork ribs, and brisket, my rib game is great, not so much on brisket. It's only my wife and me, so I don't practice brisket like I should because of the costs, and the amount of meat we have leftover.
Normally when I buy brisket, I grind it with chuck roast into what I call steak burger, there is no comparison to store bought burger, It's so much better.

What do you like best?

Welcome "K".
You'll fit in well here
Significant other by any chance "J"? Sorry cannot resist a bad quip
I appreciate this level of dad joke 😂

To answer your question, unfortunately no. Significant others name starts with an R but their middle name is John so maybe it can work? Hahah thanks for the warm welcome!

Boonton, up in Morris County. Retired back West two years ago.
I visit Boonton frequently for my job. It’s changed quite a bit and there have been quite a few new shops on the Main Street, but the parking still sucks! They also have a bbq joint but honestly it’s kind of overpriced and the smoke has this very bitter aftertaste which was off putting. I do want to try it again as when I tried it the first time I think they were only open for a week so they might have been still figuring stuff out.

I’m glad you are enjoying your retirement and look forward to many conversations here!

Welcome from Colorado
Beautiful state, great steaks, but that altitude is no joke. Was up in Granby and had to go to the hospital. Was on a trip with a group so didn’t have the opportunity to acclimate properly. The trip was a bust but between the steak and the magical grass it was a wonderful time haha. What’s your favorite thing to smoke?

Hi yall! I’m glad to see a forum like this exists. I go by K and I live in NJ. I have a WSM smoker but was able to add a massive Dyna-glo offset smoker to the collection. Hope to have many yummy conversations in the future.
