Because the Pods are hard wired correct ?
they use the electrical copper as the wired connection so wired but not wired directly as in a network cable. Ie it’s a broadband over power line (in home BPL) technology were it uses the house wiring as the data line (ie mixed with the ac but a different frequency)….its fascinating from the engineering side but works really good!

We have Sonic on an AT&T lease line..............................I've been toying with the idea of getting StarLink. May need to give it another look.

Well.......got off the phone with Sonic a little while ago. Evidently they no longer have an agreement with AT&T to provide land-line service. AT&T approached the utility commission last year to get out of the "provider of last result" designation for land-line service in California.

Our lease-line service has been grandfathered in but neither Sonic or AT&T offer any support beyond ensuring the line is up and running. The speed is 15 MB down and 1 MB up, which is working for us, but is slow by today's standard. No chance to upgrade the speed until/if AT&T runs fiber in our neighborhood.

Just got off the phone with Starlink. Because we have an internal network we need an Ethernet plug on the Starlink router, which is only available on the Gen 3 system, which means we have to go with the 200 MB service.

$65 month for the first 4 months. $80 month after that. No kit fee. No rental fee. Free installation (contracted out to Dish Network).

It's really too bad...........We have been with Sonic for 20+ years. It feels like a divorce. Time to move on. Hopefully everything works out.
