Info on lid from Weber

So i just called weber to see how much a lid would be and they said 41.25 plus 7 for shipping. Kinda high but i guess if you really wanted one you can still build the smoker cheap. Just and FYI since i had not seen it posted.

The only thing you want to remember is not every 55 gallon barrel is the same size/diameter so it may or may not fit without some minor modifications.

I buy the cheap grills from Big Lots for $30.  You get a lid that fits most drums as well as a bottom that can also be used as a lid in some cases.  You get a grill and a small grill for the bottom of your charcoal basket, not to mention all the nuts and bolts.  You may want to check this out if you have a Big Lots in your area.

I too had to order my lid from weber, cause this time of the year Big lots aren't carrying those grills anymore. But I was too impatient to wait til next year, so I ordered my lid from weber. Maker sure you check on what end the lid fits the best on the barrel, they are not the same.
