Ok boys I read this interesting story about Ichiro Suzuki the former baseball player. It talked about how much he valued routine etc… Having said that, they posted the recipe for the wings that he ate for every pre game meal for 20ish years. The Mariners chef added this recipe to the bottom of the article.
Ichi Wings!
• 1 pound raw chicken wings
• 2 cups gourmet or teriyaki sauce
• 1 lime, juiced
• 1 orange, juiced
• 1 tablespoon chopped fresh garlic
• 1 tablespoon chopped fresh ginger
• One bunch chopped green onions
• 1 tablespoon sesame oil
• 1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
Combine the ingredients and marinate for a minimum of four hours up to 24 hours.
Drain off marinade, spread out on a baking sheet and roast at 325 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.

The marinade… The only thing I couldn’t find fresh was the ginger so I used ground.

Baked the chicken so it would match the recipe. I think I will smoke them next time.

My wife wanted ribs so I smoked some baby backs as well. She also made her potato salad. Everything was great but the flavor in the wings was over the top. I think next time I will finish them in the air fryer to crisp up the skin some more. 425FDDB3-B990-47B4-9953-868AC17D207B.jpeg

Longtime Mariner's fan, so I will be definitely trying this. Hopefully, the price of wings will come down soon.
Rangers fan here but have nothing but the utmost respect for Ichiro.

That's a delicious looking meal! And a cool story to go along with it!

Not really a baseball fan, but from seattle area and a wing fan. I will absolutely have to make these. Good find, and interesting story.
