I learned at a very young age that fall school sports interfered with my outdoor pursuits. So I chose not to play. Would much rather be walking in the snow on a rabbit hunt or sitting on a deer stand....or freezing and wet in a duck blind. To each his own I say.
I was hunting pheasants at 16 with my first springer spaniel Keith, ducks two years later. Never knew folks got snow in Louisiana, those duck boys on TV sure don't look much bundled up for the cold. When I was in high school I could drive to school in my station wagon with a shotgun in the rack and the principal would come out and ask where we were going hunting when school got out, and that was in CA. Different day I reckon, when kids got in fights they used their fists, not guns. RAY

Yeah....it was a different time then. I was in Oklahoma as a kid though. Dad would let us skip school when we got a good snow and we'd go rabbit hunting. Did a lot of deer hunting up there too. Moved back home to Louisiana freshman year of high school and fell in love with duck hunting. Use to keep my shotgun in my truck. Would take off from high school on friday and drive straight to the launch headed to the duck camp. My friends were headed to play football..... while I was headed to the camp. I did not even want to date a girl if I had to give up my weekends at the duck camp. I was a serious hunter then...and I still am.

We grew up in much different times, Ray. I don't claim to know how we got from how things were back then to how they are now, but there's a completely different mindset today than there was back then.

Too bad so many never played high school football,
Oh, I agree with that. I played Little League baseball as a kid. In High School I ran Track and Cross Country (which are team sports, believe it or not). I went to all the football and basketball games because my friends were playing. It not only taught teamwork but muscular coordination and you didn't see as many fat kids....

As popular as the sport of football actually is, I've never been interested in it, going all the way back to high school! I used to enjoy boxing, very much, in fact, but once Mike Tyson crashed & burned I lost all interest.

Strange, I know...

I'm with you, Sherry. I couldn't care less about football, basketball, soccer, NASCAR or sports in general, but I have been known to watch girls in bikinis playing volleyball :emoji_sunglasses:
You reminded me the one "sport" I actually love - 24-hours of LeMans - well, not so much anymore with the electric cars and the added chicanes on the back straight...

A Porsche 956 is my dream car.

I like F1 Grand Prix racing too!

You and my wife would make a good pair. She often bursts out in random song and doesn't know where it comes from either. Might be a jingle from a commercial, or an actual song. Really no rhyme or reason to her selections ... they just come out. I quit asking, "Where the hell did that come from?" years ago and just accept it as normal lol.
I think your wife and mine may be related! Lesa will just break out in song and occasionally start dancing randomly to the music in her head. I've learned to just go with the flow and will sing along if I know the song.

Think we will come visit Jim...that way you and my wife can just sit and shake your heads at Lesa and I! By the way...my dancing may be worse than my singing...better get more tequila ( and put all the ashtrays away) !

As a Cowboys fan, I also do not wish to hear a #!@#$ thing about football right now.
Sorry Loyd, but my wife's twin brother is as well. Wife's a big Niners fan...went to see grandma in the hospital a couple nights ago...thought he was gonna throw her out the window. Went up to give him a hug, and said...you have my sympathies!

Didn't trump sign a bill letting vets go to whatever doctors they choose if the wait was too long?
Kinda but has to be a va approved doctor. The doctor has to accept the VA is gonna pay way less than their actual fee. Still takes weeks to get approval because of the red tape. We can go to urgent cares and emergency room of our choice now though lol

Now I'm trying to remember what movie I remember it from!
Worse yet...Mary Poppins popped in recently...have you ever tried to spell supercalifragilistic...that's far enough. Sorry, back to football!
