If anybody is still reading: if you feel a little clench in the backside at dropping a Benjamin on the original model, if you drill down, they have a combo unit. it's a little smaller, but two baskets and water trough, which back to back could serve as a "vortexy" type device. Support dude told me the smaller one would burn about 5-6 hours with blue briquettes plus you can add during the cook.. $52-ish delivered from Amazon. Steel seems sturdy. will find out Sunday.

havn't justified that with only two of us to cook for. I do wings pretty good in the air fryer
Air fryer wings for me too . You'll get use out of the SnS . I bank the coals as well . I get everything done with the baskets , snake and banking coals to one side .
But ,,,
Don't forget the charcoal basket from your WSM . I have a 14 , so it works better for the 22 .
Your 18 could be used in the center , and whatever you're cooking goes around that . Works great . I've even elevated the 14" ring on some bricks to get it right up under the cooking grate .
Attach the WSM charcoal grate to the ring if you haven't already . When done cooking , shake the dust out and move to wherever you need it .

You guys got me interested in the air fryer wings. I have Bears Ninja. I usually only do flappers and been deep frying and using some dry jerk seasoning I like.

A couple of years ago my wife looked at the (her) Amazon bill and told me I need to spend more money on myself.
OK that was after I got her a new off lease car.

When I plan a new project or buy, the wife brings up some product or project I got snookered on in the past and reminds how much money I lost and makes me assure her it won't happen this time. :emoji_cold_sweat: :emoji_laughing: :emoji_laughing:

Seasoned up and used the grill plate . Air fry setting 390 .
I fill the grill plate , but don't crowd .

I bought a Ninja slow cooker around 10 years ago. The LED indicator has a few lights out but this thing still rocks and is used weekly around here. One of the best purchased I've made. We have a good air fryer but I got my eyeballs on that Ninja 6+1

need try the grill plate for air frying,
It's a combination of air frying and grilling I think . The heat from the plate sears and cooks from the bottom . The 390 temp is perfect , and use that on almost everything .

I use a Nashville hot seasoning I got at GFS or one of the Frank's redhot shakers seasonings .
I do 95% of wings in the ninja .

Haven't justified it YET I believe is what you meant to say.
Mmmm, surely he means "Haven't received it yet". Because you know, it came with it, but it's on back order so he didn't pay for it. Right? At least that's my justification when I "need" something LOL

I do as well, unless it is nice and I want the vortex.
just never thought to combine the grill plate and the air fry setting. I usually do a franks and butter combo to toss them in.
