I figured I should give a follow up since I posted it in the open forum (prostate biopsy)

The radiation clinic gave me a certificate for having completed my course of treatment with courage, determination, and good nature (must of got me confused with another patient, lol).

They also have canvases of amateur art lining the halls back in the treatment area. They have every patient who completes their course of treatment sign their name on one of them and ring a bell, lol. I played along. Great bunch of ladies work there.

Thanks, Jerry. Given it was caught early, should be pretty much a done deal. 5 rounds of high dose radiation over a couple weeks makes you feel kind of drained, but that should work itself out shortly.

Wishing you a quick recovery... hope you start feeling better soon! And that crap is all gone!

Much appreciated, bud! I hope it is gone. It should be but will take a little while to know for sure. Been a bit of a rough ride but the worst should be behind me.

So what was worse? The biopsy or the treatment?
The biopsy, I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. They ever do that to me again; they best knock me out with a club beforehand!

Treatment wasn't bad till about the 4th round. I had my 4th treatment this past Monday and Wednesday morning, felt like I had eaten a pound of ghost peppers ....... treatment burnt me up a little back yonder. Was mostly back to normal this morning and hopefully today didn't burn me up again.

Already had a couple .......... fatigue, check, seems like a job just to get out of bed some days. That may be over quickly but can go on for months, possibly up to a year.

Have noted some minor urinary issues, but they put me on Flomax ahead of treatment to lessen any issues. The issues I've experienced there are minor and not overly bothersome.

My second to last treatment caused some rectal burning. Took a day or so after the radiation session to show up but went a whole day feeling as if I'd crapped out a pound of ghost peppers.

That, thankfully, resolved itself in a couple days. My hope is that this last treatment I had yesterday does not cause a repeat of that!

The main reason I started and continue to update this thread is that prostate cancer is both the most common and most treatable cancer among men, and I expect most of, at least, the more active members in the forum have one.

Well, went for a blood draw for my first post radiation PSA test today. Been 4 months since the last treatment so my PSA should be coming down. I have a follow up with the radiation doc this coming Thursday.

My urologist wanted a 4 month post radiation follow-up as well but haven't made the appointment yet. One doc following my results is plenty.

They did the same thing with me... then finally the Rad. doc signed off... Urologist went to once a year after about 4, 6 month follow ups...

A little late for that, as I have already done radiation treatments. I trust my radiation oncologist though.
With all due respect Sir!
I had ex- tensive surgery done @ age below age 2, TWICE!
My Dad told me the DOC Said Do Not expect yur son to live?
Also a Nurse said she could loose her job?!, Get Yur Son out of here!
Went to Philly, they pulled me THRU!
Has another Doc tell me that I did not have a Hernia? An EMT told me why < he was right!
Even the surgeon said WHAT? YUP !, You have a Hernia !
Last point : I do not trust or believe any Med option !
They can be wrong ? Or a better way to deal with it ?

Had Both hips replaced, both the Chirco and Surgent said the same Diosg. , That tells me it La git ?
If My dad or me listened to some ?
I would of been DEAD over 60 yrs ago ! Im 67, Sorry if Im a bit vocal, Its something that one has to experience it to appreciate it!!
Last thought: I had an indepth talk with My SIN( Sister in law), was in a Coma.
He listened to what I was asking and probing his Diagos?
He changed her MEDS! She Woke up from the COMA!
With no side affects and did not even know what happened ?
Ask twice to be Safe ! Amen!

If you even, for a second, think I just jumped into this radiation treatment without doing a ton of research on my options, you are mistaken, with all due respect.

With All Due respect, its about getting you better!
With todays Rapid Tech, things change ! That,s a good thing !
I totally agree with you ! I did the same with both Hips replacements.
I do apologize and did not send any disrespect, just that we are all humans, including the Docs !?
Again Sorry that you took it the wrong way.
Enough SAID!
