That's a nice rig . If the SmokeFire ever pukes , I'll be looking hard at a Yoder .Yoder YS640, Purchased new Spring of 2017.
You are right about that. I just recently found this group and I can say that I do like it here. It is much more civilized and people seem to be here for the right reasons."I don't get the hate on Pellet Smokers."
You are right! You don't get the hate on pellet smokers here! We are a civilized bunch here at SMF. Haters don't last long.
This will probably be my next smoker. This summers project is building an outdoor kitchen but a Yoder is next on my list.View attachment 720188
Yoder YS640, Purchased new Spring of 2017. This unit has been kept in a screened in porch for the 1st 2 years then got moved outside. Sometimes covered sometimes not. Has been rained on without a cover more than once. Got flipped over while moving it with forks on my SC tractor. Has had at least 2 ton's of pellets run through it. The only thing I've replaced so far is an upgraded ignitor, door seal (it needs another door seal now), and 1 of the 2 fans that it utilizes. I've never had any issue with pellets being left in the hopper and that included being left out in the rain (Pellets stayed dry.) It weight over 300 lbs and is covered in rust. I consider it patina.
8 years of use and a lot of abuse, runs as good as the day I purchased it.
Not all pellet cookers are the same. I love my pellet cooker.
Some of us have reached the peak and dialed it back some for simplicity sake. No Q is bad Q, just different degrees of good Q!We all start out with a simple BBQ. Many are fine with that. Others who have either tried amazing smoked meat or at least have seen videos online on just how great it can be to eat something better want to improve their skills.
Like anything in life there are many levels you can hope to achieve. In my experience I am pretty much at the peak unless I learn more which does happen.
Well said!Let's face it, if you eat it, it is good enough. If someone of making me dinner or lunch or anything I don't give crap what is cooked on (within reason). If it tastes good enjoy it. Life is too short to bitch about what rig is better. At the end of the day we all just wanna eat.
