Hunting And Fishing Thread!?!

[Smoking Allowed]

Nice especially with a recurve and wooden arrows

Thanks @Smoking Allowed ! That’s a 1969 Bear polar. And the barred feather on the arrows is from a turkey I shot also. Good times for sure

I’ll definitely take him if he gives me a chance!

Rifle season opens this Friday. My 14yr old daughter has her first buck tag and 12yr old her doe tag. Been watching a few bucks most of the year in my area

[Compulsive Smoker]

Wow! Good luck to both of them!

I've no game pics to share, but I have started pheasant hunting again, for the first time in decades. I used to hunt them on the family farm in southern Idaho. Now that I'm up in the panhandle, I'm really north of their range, but Fish and Game is stocking some in a nearby wildlife management area, trying to get a population reintroduced. Without a dog, and with endless cover on the WMA (no bare ground to try and drive the pheasants towards, usually they'll hold rather than running across bare ground, then flush when you get close), I've little chance of bagging one. But it makes for a very pretty fall walk, so I'm getting out once a week or so. The Coeur d'Alene river loops around much of the WMA, so there is also potential for ducks, geese, and trout.

Best part of pheasant hunting was time spent with my dog! Sure do miss her! In the winter of 09 and 10, we had alot of snow... I had 6 inches of my colon removed and had 34 staples in my belly... remember looking out the window and seeing nothing but her butt and tail sticking out from behind a tree. I'll be danged if she didn't come out with a rooster pheasant in her mouth, and then delivered it to the front door!

I have had it with these damn poachers, enough is enough. Take their boats, gear and put 'em in the clink.

And this is just this Fall within the last week and this sh!t happens every year!
