What is better than a perch pile?
TWO Perch Piles!
After doing Christmas festivities for the 3rd time in 4 days with the In-Laws side of family the brother in law and I high tailed it for the same lake not getting there till after 1pm. This time there were 7-8 houses with not sure how many people with one house close to where I had got most of my perch yesterday. We went to my 2nd hot hole from yesterday and quickly picked up where I left off, I did have to punch a few extra holes to stay on the fish but we didn't go far from the start point, maybe 15-20yds. The closest house was the guy and young with his family and we got to talk and exchange info from them I left and what they had during morning, they were able to get some action themselves and kiddo got to do some catching. We had our limits and started walking off around 4pm. Got home we got everything fileted and needed to eat and kids were hungry so fired up some oil and started breading and frying. Got about 12 pieces leftover that I will try reheated in air fryer tomorrow, never tried this so any info would appreciate it. Sorry for the long writeup but was just a good day.

Nice score, what is that block box in the middle of the 2 piles of fish? Is that something to keep the ice hole from freezing?

Didn't get around to posting this till now. This was done on Dec 21st, venison backstrap and a cut from the hind quarter from our daughter's deer this year, a chunk of salmon from Lake Sakakawea ND and garden potatoes that are chilling in the basement cellar. All the proteins got seasoned and into the fridge for a few hours. Family preferred the seasoning on the Backstrap over the hind quarter roast and I kind of agree but it was still real good, just had a sweet flavor that just didn't excite me in the venison. Venison was done in cast iron with oil and butter and then into 350 oven for a few minutes to finish, salmon was just in the 350 oven and taters were a mix of on the stove top with butter and oven to finish
