Dam I already bought a freezer fridge combo thinking it would work since that’s how the 2 guys and a cooler channel had it set up … so even if the cut out the partition between the fridge and freezer ill
Run into issues?? What if I change the fan out?

The partition has freon tubes in it, don't cut into that!!

So a dehumidifier uses around 240W of power and a humidifier uses around 50-80W, and they often come with their own ice packs I was wondering if you could perhaps use them together to hopefully achieve something very similar to air con, without the use of an actual air con / refrigerants?
It would depend on the model dehumidifer and humidifier used, the configuration as well as the volume of space, and how much heat is returned to the system inside the space.

I have seen a compressor system used, but this gets cold enough to condense humidity out of the air, dropping the chamber RH%. Then at the end of the cooling cycle, the circulation fan continues to run. This uses the chamber air to melt the condensation on the evaporator coil, thus returning some of the moisture back to the chamber to raise the RH%. The rest drips into the catch pan and out of the unit. Very efficient system....no auxiliary humidifier needed. There will always be enough moisture condensed to rehumidify the chamber.

It "can" work......just depends on the model and unit you bought. Some do have coils between the fridge and freezer section....some don't....

I use one of the small peltier dehumidifiers for my cannabis growing chamber and it works amazing. It's very similar to the one Eric uses in his homemade chamber and it's really the go to unit for a confined space.

this is the one i got barely used for $130 door just needs fixed and shes good to go.

so im better off getting a fridge only refrigerator?
That one 'will' work, but you will be limited to using the refrigerator only section unless you can remove the partition between the freezer and refrigerator compartments. It can be done. Cajuneric's first chamber uses a refrigerator with a freezer compartment...he removed the partition and has a video up on the build. But nicked a refrigerant line when he drilled into the sides to attach some angles for hanging bars.. had to do a repair. He has a youtube up on the build.

The easy way is to use a freezerless refrigerator, or do what I did and buy a stand up freezer.

A stand up refrigerator with a freezer uses the same cooling system for the refrigerator compartment as it does for the freezer compartment. Baffles divert some of the cold air to the refrigerator compartment. I chose to bypass this and just buy a stand up freezer....less hassle IMO, works just the same. You will be hijacking the temps. using controllers anyway....
