Hello and greetings from Needville, TX!

I just finished building my first smokehouse out behind the garage. I am a complete newby to meat smoking, but am looking forward to my new hobby!

I started this because my wife's grandmother lost her son (he had down's syndrome and was 64) back in November, and I needed a way to keep her engaged (this is also how I've ended up building a chicken coop). Her knowledge, along with all the great folks here will be key to making this a success. I must admit that I've been lurking around here for the last few weeks during my build. You guys and gals sure do seem to be pretty generous with great advice!

Hello Jason and welcome!  Glad you've joined the group.  This is a great place to learn the smoky arts...lots of friendly folks who really know their stuff who are happy to share and help.  Just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.
