How to make this grill into a smoker

I am trying to figure out how to make a grill I obtained for free into a smoker without spending to much money. The grill looks like a char-broil but does not have a side firebox. I am trying to figure out an easy way to use it to smoke meat. Any ideas would be appreciated.

You can pick up a fire box at Home Depot and attach it Better get some rust oleum and high temp paint as well

Is it worth fixing or should I get what I can out of it and buy something else? Or can I make a smokenator contraption for it and use it that way?
