My wife and i were dicussing how much smoke should be coming out of the stack on my CG Outlaw. I say that thereis smoke coming out of the stack even though you cant see much of it as long as the pits up to temp. She says that there should be smoke pouring out of the stack at all times, just like when you add afresh set of wood chunks. Who is right?

You should see thin blue smoke.... Not going to get into who's right or wrong and neither should you cause if mommas not happy... No ones happy...LOL

the one on the right is good. the one on the left is bad

redneck, I'm with boykjo, I wouldn't tell her she's wrong, but thin blue smoke is idea, but you are also correct on the point that even if you don't see smoke (although we all love the look of thin blue smoke wafting out) it's still smoking.  A lot of us here call it Ninja smoke, you can't see it, but it's there.

What Boykjo said, however the smoke you get from an AMNPS or from an electric smoker might not be blue like the one on the right, but it should be about that heavy or less. Even if you don't see it, as long as you smell it. I recommend very light smoke for the whole time, except when something is foiled.
