I am getting married in 2 weeks, and we have elected to cook our own food, to save costs. I like to smoke, but don't get to do it as often as I would like. I am wanting to take this opportunity really go for it.

We just did a tally of total RSVP's and it looks like we are going to have 125 to 150 people at our wedding. So I need to cook enough pork loin and brisket for that many people.

My biggest problem is I have no idea how to estimate how much to buy and cook. Any thoughts and ideas now ho much to buy and cook?

Pork Loin or butt? Are you slicing or pulling/chopping?

Depending on Sides and how it is served, sliced on the plate or sandwiches, you can figure 4-5 oz per meat per person. Both pork loin and brisket have about a 75% yield so at 4 oz/person...

4 oz X 150 people / .75 yield = 800 oz / 16 = 50 Lbs of each Raw

This should get you in the right neighborhood with maybe some leftovers if there is a lot of women. Older guests like to take a plate home. Hope this helps...JJ
