I performed my first test of my electric cedar smoker build. Above is a chart of the results of that test over 30 minutes. My question to the group is whether this is normal, lower than expected, or is it good? Granted, I don't have the seal around the door or the gaps inside sealed yet. The smoker is approximately 18 x24x30 in and has a 1200 watt heating element. I haven't wired in the PID or the SSR yet but I expect the results would be similar.
Any advice or comments are certainly welcomed.
Cheers,
Joe

Looks pretty darn fast to me. I smoke sausage and cured meats 130-140, you are there in less than 5 minutes. You are at bbq temp in less than 30 min and just about max safe upper temp for a wood Smokehouse at about 30 min. So I think you have plenty of heat source.

With no vents open it looks normal, no meat to act as a sink. that's a lot of heat in a small area gasket or not, think about how much heat comes out of the little area heaters that are about 1200w. And welcome to the site.
