How do you transport smokers to competitions?

Sounds simple...use a trailer. But the problem is that the smokers I'm considering using weigh from 600 to 800 plus pounds. A utility trailer I was going to purchase has the typical drop down "tailgate" and the angle looks a little steep for pushing an 800lb smoker uphill without requiring surgery.

I could use an electric winch but is there a common method used to bring heavy smokers to competitions and safely remove and then replace them on a trailer?

Thanks for any help,

Mike
