Never tried the combo but have heard it's great. Isn't it a regional thing somewhere?
I did a quick search and found a handful of states listed as cinnamon rollers with chili. Had a few from the Midwest and mostly all the states around Colorado. That was everyone's favorite day in grade school lol.

Grew up eating chili with cinnamon rolls... school even had it at times for families before Friday night football games.

Good looking meal there!

Do not remember what they served as a side on chile day

Chili and cinnamon roll. This pairs great together. Kinda like chicken n waffles.
I'm gonna have to try it . Like said never heard of it until it was first posted here . I know people and have seen recipes that use cinnamon in chili .

Good lookin' meal .

I use cinnamon as well as cocoa in my chili, but I dont really want anything sweet with my chili, or my dinner. I dont even want a slice of pie right after dinner! And dont put raisins and nuts in my dinner either :emoji_astonished:

I admit though, I tried the chicken and waffles...and it was very good!:emoji_wink:

Wife made some Chili for supper and added a little cinnamon, I could smell it as soon as I walked into the house as I am pretty sure I have used that trick before.
It was ok chili with crappy store bought burger, likely from Walmart. I added a good dose of hot sauce and worked for me, some Jiffy cornbread with honey butter drizzle on the side (honey is from the local producer that has bee's on our land.)

Too funny. The people complaining about putting cinnamon in chili are eating cinnamon rolls on the side!!! FYI Those tubed cinn rolls are 1000% better if you let them rise like an hour. Straight into oven is a hard pass here.

For me, the best side for chili is corn bread ( luvcatchingbass luvcatchingbass beat me to it). That's how we got it at school and yes, beans in the chili too. My wife and I think the best cornbread we ever had was from school in the 70's and do not care for pretty much all mixes. Thanks to this thread, gonna try this!

Two church chili cook offs ago I got beat by a chili that had cinnamon in it. I didn't like it, but everyone else did. Cinnamon rolls on the side is different. I had forgotten about it being a lunch room favorite. Yep, this needs to go on the fall menu list.

I thought the chili was going to be on top of the cinnamon bun.

OOOOOOH toasted cinnamon bun topped with chili.

Individually they're both fantastic, but together just doesn't float my boat. Kind of like chicken and waffles. I don't see the connection, but I also detest waffles.
