It is a film based from the information of a book bearing the same name.

i saw that & then they went to some cowboys in california( yeah i know i know) to see what was the most preferred style. same show right ? if so it was on the history channel too.
 
I watched it. Ollie Gates isn't the best representative for KC BBQ (though I like Gates Q now and then). I was glad to see Earl Quick though. Man! NOTHING beats a Quick's BBQ sausage sammie! If you are in KC you should visit Quick's. Little place, NOT fancy! Not a swanky neighborhood. Just good Q.
Can't say as I was too interested in the cow heads cooked in the pit down south. (You had to see the program)

best rest. i ever ate @ in my life was this authentic (i think it was called mom's diner)diner- complete w/ the table top jukes down in the fish dist. of philly- i ordered veal parm.- it was a heaping 9x13 pan (for $5.99) real veal about 3lbs of cheese & mom ( a sicilian woman) everything done home style & she crossed her hamhock arms & made damn sure i ate every bite then curled her stash & asked if i wanted cannoli fer dessert.- i didn't say no. any philly friends here know the place ? moriarity's is great too.
