Hey everyone, it's been a long time since I've dropped by and I sure do miss you all.

The new job I started last Sept is sucking the life out of me

but at least I am working.

In celebration of Labor Day I've put off doing stuff that needs to be done, and have fired up the DUSD ( damn ugly drum smoker ).  Since my shift has to work this coming weekend I told the guys I'd bring in meat and sauce if they pony up for bread and sides.

So tonight I've got 2 yardbirds slowly cookin over some lump and I just finished rubbing my butt LOL.

I got a heckuva deal on pork butts at $1.49/lb two packs. 17.68lbs. These will go on after the chicken comes off. Was going to do them tomorrow but the smoker is running so good I figured why not just feed it some more lump let it settle and pull an all nighter.

Of course I have my 732 to warn me of any eminent catastrophes.

Oh there are only 4 of us on my shift so that means lots and lots of leftovers to freeze and enjoy later when I don't have time to light up.

Thanks DL, I made the mistake of taking in fatties one night. Now all I hear is " when are you gonna make fatties again? "

Starting to cool down Terry.  Hot yesterday and today and I think this weekend it should  drop off pretty fair.

Well smoker is still chuggin along, had some temp issues lastnight after I bragged on how well it was doing in my first post. It has slowly fallen off to 220 and the meat is holding at 176.  I think this is the first all nighter where I actually got to sleep more than an hour or two at a time. Guess I should start looking for that camera so I can give you some of the View when its ready.
 
Nice chatting with ya on chat :)  I am still just in trial period for a qualified smoker  butt (as in pork) ,, that old one you have sounds like it works well enough :)  Hope the new job works out for you too.  Happy smoking :)
 
dagnabits!!!! I know I know..no pictures it never happened... wife packed the camera up in her stuff she took to her family reunion...and there is no way any will be left by the time she gets back.....time to invest in my own personal food camera!
