Got some good info and tips from this sight and figured i would join. New to smoking and bbq. Started out using my gas grill and then a few days ago stole my ol mans upright smoker seein how he never uses it. Nothing fancy or expensive just a cheap Charbroil. Got to try it out today while i made some goose jerky. Its not bad for a starter but i think eventually im gonna up grade to either electric or gas. I did modify the coal pan with a bunch of 1/2" holes as i seen a lot of people suggest. Any who figured id stop in and give an introduction.
