Here I go with more spam stuff. Has anyone tried spam w/ Japanese barbecue sauce?

We do live in an awesome place!! Even after 26 years here, we marvel daily at this place. We can't take this place for granted. There are loads of "price of paradise" costly things, but most don't affect us. Gas is expensive? We have a Honda Civic and don't drive much. Electricity expensive? We're on solar. Food is expensive? Well, yah, for us as well, but how much can 2 77 year olds eat? :D

Were you working when you first moved out there? An old coworker apparently made more in HI, relative to the cost of living, than in one of the highest Continental cities. Granted, for the hospitality industry.

Some simple recipes replicating Spam on here with pork shoulder, cure 1 & 2. Not sure about the Korean flavor but fermented bean paste has got to be a big component.

We retired debt-free to Hawaii at 50 in 2000. This state is best enjoyed that way. :D We would never have moved if we needed employment, or had kids in school.

Our gas is at $6.30+ a gallon for Reg. at the cheap stations.
Diesel is at $8.50+ a gallon at the cheap stations, not so cheap anymore.
Good thing I normally only fill up once a month generally.
Electric, FORGET ABOUT IT, it's stupid high, and food prices are out of control as well. I have no idea how people with kids are making it these days, and home prices are insane at best. I truly can't wait to be from this State. It doesn't even resemble the CA I grew up in, something needs to change, the working people are tired of supporting all of the freeloaders and druggie's with our hard earned tax money.
You can only get so much blood out a turnip before it runs dry, then what???
I'd sure like to know their plans for the future, if they have any!!!
