I have found no need to inject pork butts.  They smoke up nicely without injecting.  I assume you rubbed the butt down.  I pull my butts at 165 wrap in foil and back on smoker until 203-205 and into an ice chest for an hour or so before pulling.

Yes I rubbed it down- it's at 149 now so I have a while-it's just my hubby thinks they were better after we started injecting. Gotta keep the king happy lol

Don't tell him you didn't  injected it. I bet he won't notice. Lets see some pics.

Happy smoken.

Are you planning to pull and wrap in foil?  If so, the time is getting close.  Not everyone does this but I have found my family enjoys it best this way.  It also serves to conserve internal juices.  I am like David, I bet hubby does not notice it wasn't injected this time.  It will be outstanding in any case.

No need to inject after cooking get a finishing sauce Check Chef JJ

The ones on the right have disco's maple glaze I read about on here and the left the Johnny trigg brown sugar, butter, but we use maple syrup instead of honey

Looks great! I too vote no injection. Never needed it on a butt. Just make sure and wrap in two layers of foil with a little liquid like apple juice or whatever. wrap in towells and stash in a cooler for an hour. It will be soooooo juicy!
