So today, I pretty much killed my little red electric smoker while it had a rack of ribs on it. Basically a big fire started & seared the bottom of the ribs. It was on the rack maybe 2 minutes. I took the ribs off while trying to put out the fire, and put them back in the fridge. I had to buy a new smoker so I'm going to cook these in the oven. Basically want to know if the meat is still ok? Thoughts?

I'm not the safety guy but I would imagine they should be fine! You only had them on for a couple of mins you probably didn't even really bring the temp of the ribs up yet. So cook em and eat em.

How hot did you have it and yeah , the meat will be fine , but tough luck with your Smoker . That's a bummer. . .

Ta heck with the ribs, The more important question is WHAT SMOKER DID YOU GET?

I'm in an apt so I only have the option to get electric. I went from the brinkmann gourmet electric to the Masterbuilt Pro Electric. Putting it together tomorrow and hoping to put something on by the weekend!

We're all good after dinner! Lol. It was electric, but I had too many wood chunks in and they all caught fire & pretty much burned out the inside. Oops. I got a good year out of the brinkmann. Not bad for $70!
